A former Sergeant, trainer, and now pastor, Ken leads from a place of scars, not theory. Born in Benton Harbor, MI and raised in the Vineyard Housing Projects, as a youth, he was sexually assaulted, physically abused, and live under all that came from an urban, inner-city environment. As an adult, he had a failed suicide attempt, the death of two sets of twins, and divorced twice, to name a few. Ken holds dual bachelors, Masters, and dual doctorates in the social sciences and is Certified as a Life Coach and Trainer through the John Maxwell institute. Through it all, he found Christ, and Christ handed him his purpose: To help you stop living, loving, and leading from a place of woundedness.

Kevin is a husband, father, grandfather, entrepreneur, and longtime community and ministry leader passionate about helping people and organizations thrive. An ordained minister since 1991, Kevin has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Executive Pastor, missions board chairman, charter school board member, and leader of a weekly men’s group for nearly two decades. Professionally, he has more than 20 years of experience in the mortgage and financial services industries, bringing business experience, strategic thinking, faith, and a commitment to good stewardship to his board leadership. He and his wife, Sabrena, have been married for more than 38 years, have five adult children, and enjoy a growing family of grandchildren. Kevin seeks to use his experience, relationships, and leadership to serve others well and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people and their communities.

Jeremiah is a husband, father, military veteran, executive leader, educator, and mentor who is passionate about helping people grow beyond the experiences that have shaped and wounded them. His commitment to service has been developed through years of leadership in the military, business, education, and his local community, where he has focused on developing people, strengthening organizations, and creating opportunities for others to thrive. Professionally, Jeremiah serves in executive leadership supporting national security and technology programs and brings extensive experience in business operations, strategic planning, program management, cybersecurity, organizational leadership, and financial stewardship. He holds an MBA, a master’s degree in cybersecurity, and 15 professional certifications within his career field, reflecting his continued commitment to learning, growth, and excellence. As Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors for Stop Living Wounded, Jeremiah brings a strong commitment to accountability, responsible stewardship, and the long-term sustainability of the organization.

Born and raised in Rhode Island, Kevin joined the Army earning Airborne, Air Assault, and Jump Master. He left having achieved the rank of Sergeant, and in 2025, after years of serving, and leading recovery meetings, he began pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Sociology at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS), further strengthening his commitment to growth and service. As a Christ follower, Kevin is deeply dedicated to coming alongside others. In his free time, he enjoys reading, traveling, working out, playing chess, and volunteering at his local church.

David Decker understands recovery from both sides of the journey. He has not only helped build and serve in recovery ministry, but has also personally walked through the recovery process. That experience has given him a deep appreciation for the courage it takes to acknowledge brokenness, do the difficult work of change, and help others discover that healing is possible. A retired heavy equipment mechanic, David now invests much of his time in helping other men rebuild their lives. He currently volunteers twice a week at the El Paso County jail, where he teaches a men’s Celebrate Recovery class. He also serves faithfully in his church and mentors younger men as his schedule permits, using both his experience and faith to encourage others toward spiritual growth, personal responsibility, and lasting recovery. David enjoys sports, home cooked meals, and studying Bible apologetics. He and his wife, Debbie, have been married for 44 years. His life reflects a simple but powerful truth: recovery is not merely something he teaches. It is a journey he knows personally and one he now uses to help others find their way forward.

Debbie Decker’s passion for recovery is rooted in her own experience of transformation through Jesus Christ. Having helped build and serve in recovery ministries, she has witnessed firsthand what can happen when the Gospel moves beyond something we believe and becomes something that changes how we live. She is passionate about sharing the Gospel and helping others understand how Jesus transformed her life. A retired technical writer and editor and a published author, Debbie has spent much of her life communicating ideas through the written word. Today, she uses those gifts along with her personal experience to encourage women in their faith, recovery, and personal growth. She is actively involved in women’s ministry, serves in her church, and invests in younger women through encouragement and mentorship. Debbie also teaches a women’s Celebrate Recovery class at the El Paso County jail, walking alongside women who are seeking freedom, healing, and a new direction for their lives. She and her husband, David, have been married for 44 years. Together, they share a commitment to recovery ministry that is more than a program they serve. It is a ministry shaped by lives that have experienced the transforming power of Christ.

Steve is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addictions Counselor in private practice specializing in family trauma, addictions, co-dependency and recovery issues in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Steve has worked in the field of addictions and trauma for more than 45 years as a counselor, consultant, trainer and clinical director of treatment programs for adults and adolescents, and their families. Steve approaches family trauma both professionally and personally. From abuse in his childhood to the death of his wife, Rachel, Steve knows firsthand how unexpected trauma can affect people and relationships. Steve has worked professionally with Sharon Wegscheider-Cruse, Vernon Johnson, Virginia Satir and other nationally known therapists in the field of family therapy and addictions. Steve has conducted training seminars for therapists, educators, and churches concerning issues of addictions and family trauma in the United States, Canada, Europe and the Middle East. Steve is the author of Family Sculpture Techniques, A Therapist Manual, Chemical Dependency and Recovery Are A Family Affair, contributing author of Portraits of Courage and “Unmasking Troubled Families” (CD series). Steve is also featured in the Focus on the Family video, “Physician Assisted Suicide, Not Worth Living.” His articles are also posted on several other web sites. Steve lives in Colorado Springs with his wife, Carrie.

Dr. Nicole is a native of Guilford County, NC, but was raised in Caswell County. She received education from several institutions, including Piedmont Community College and Liberty University. In 2023, she obtained a doctorate in Biblical Studies from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Dr. Nicole serves at Grace Empowerment Ministries in Reidsville, NC, alongside her husband, Pastor Cedric Garland. Together, they have four children and five grandchildren. She teaches Bible study and is the coordinator of the women’s ministry. She is employed as a Programmer Analyst and loves all things tech. A student of the word, Dr. Nicole desires to teach the scriptures with simplicity and passion so that everyone will have understanding and zeal to study to show themselves approved.
